The People Behind The Page

Creative
Team

Stray Pen Comics is built around collaboration.

Writers, artists and creators all bring something different to the page, and the aim is to give each project the space to grow through those different perspectives.

Right now, much of our focus is on Moon Lycan V and the wider Moon Lycan Universe, but the long-term goal is to keep building new characters, new stories and new worlds together.

Founder, Creator & Creative Director

Yima Kange

Yima Kange is the founder of Stray Pen Comics and the creator of the Moon Lycan Universe.

He started Stray Pen as a home for the kinds of stories he has always wanted to create — character-led comics with big worlds, strong mythology, action, emotion and room to grow over time.

His main focus at the moment is Moon Lycan V, working with the writers and artists involved to develop the characters, stories, designs and wider world around Lucian Kingsley.

As Creative Director, Yima helps shape the overall direction of each project, but the process is very much collaborative. Ideas are discussed, challenged, developed and improved as they move between writing, artwork, colour and design.

He remains closely involved throughout that process, particularly when it comes to character creation, world-building and the bigger picture of where each story fits within the universe.

For Yima, Stray Pen is ultimately about bringing talented people together and creating something stronger through collaboration.

Senior Writer

Marcus Vale

Marcus Vale is a writer with a strong interest in fantasy, supernatural storytelling and character-driven drama.

At Stray Pen, Marcus works across story development, structure and character arcs, helping turn early ideas into stories that feel focused, engaging and emotionally grounded.

He enjoys exploring the smaller moments behind the larger ones — the relationships, choices and consequences that give a story its weight beyond the action.

Marcus is currently working within the Moon Lycan Universe, helping develop future storylines, characters and ideas as the world continues to expand.

His role is less about simply writing from a brief and more about being part of the conversation that helps shape where the story goes next.

Writer

Elias Navarro

Elias Navarro brings a love of action, fantasy and modern character storytelling to his work at Stray Pen Comics.

He works closely with the wider writing group to develop scripts, dialogue and story beats, taking ideas from early concepts through to something that can live naturally on the page.

Elias is particularly interested in character relationships and the quieter scenes between the bigger moments, where personalities and motivations really start to come through.

His current work includes stories connected to the Moon Lycan Universe, while also contributing ideas towards future projects beyond the main series.

For Elias, the strongest stories usually come from writers being able to bounce ideas off one another and find something none of them would have reached alone.

Senior Artist

Jordan Reyes

Jordan Reyes is the Senior Artist at Stray Pen Comics and plays a major part in shaping how the stories look and feel on the page.

His work combines strong character acting, cinematic framing and dynamic action, while always keeping the storytelling clear.

Jordan works closely with the writers and development side of the project, helping take ideas from scripts, notes and conversations and turn them into characters, environments and finished sequences.

His current focus is Moon Lycan V, where he is helping establish the visual identity of Lucian Kingsley, the supporting cast and the world around them.

A big part of the process is the back-and-forth between story and artwork, with designs and scenes often developing further once they start taking visual form.

Jordan brings that visual interpretation into the project, helping give the world its own personality beyond what is written on the page.

Raphael Santos

Colourist

Raphael Santos

Raphael Santos is the colourist helping bring the pages of Moon Lycan V to life.

His work focuses heavily on mood, atmosphere and lighting, using colour to support the emotion of a scene rather than simply sitting on top of the artwork.

Whether it is the warmer tones of Miami, darker night scenes or moments where the supernatural starts to break through, Raphael helps give each sequence its own feel.

He works closely with the artwork and visual direction already established on the page, while also bringing his own interpretation to lighting, tone and environment.

Colour is an important part of how the Moon Lycan world is beginning to take shape, and Raphael’s work helps pull the different visual elements together into a finished page.

Development Writer

Maya Bennett

Maya Bennett works on the early development side of Stray Pen’s stories.

Her focus is on the stage where ideas are still being shaped — characters, backgrounds, mythology, relationships, story possibilities and the wider rules of a world.

She works alongside the writers and Yima to explore those ideas before they become finished scripts, helping ask the questions that can make a character or storyline stronger.

Maya is currently contributing to the ongoing development of the Moon Lycan Universe, particularly ideas that extend beyond the immediate story of Moon Lycan V.

A lot of her work happens before a page is ever drawn, when a simple idea can still change direction completely.

That early stage of discovery is a major part of what she brings to the group.
